"When we are confronted, slandered or insulted our natural instinct is to respond with like for like, so Christians often advocate non-retaliation. But Peter pushes us even further... We must do more than turn away from evil. A truly Christlike approach is to pay back insult with a blessing, cruelty with kindness. Yes, it is tough, but the benfits ae worth it. "
My response/Opinion?
Okay, when someone does something bad to us. We tend to take 'revenge' and let the person have a taste of their own medicine, but God doesn't want us to do this. Instead, he wants us to show kindness to the person. Cause we have to be a blessing to the people around us. And like, be a testimony of Christ. Cause, if we, christians, do bad stuffs, what more non-believers right? We do not need to fear doing the right thing, fear of being ostracized from society, fear that we don't 'fit in' cause we do the right thing, fear that our friends may say that we are cowards and are 'not cool' and stuffs. We don't need to fear all those cause in this life, we have one purpose/goal and that is God. God died for us and now we live for Him, our rewards are in heaven and not of earthly things. So, all we have to do, is to be a blessing to do people around us. And influence the society for Christ (:
Okay, i don't know if this is wrong or irrevelant to today's quiet time. But this is what i understand from the thing so yeah (: Night all.
